Porsche’s “This is a love story” Ad
This is a love story.
The year was 1948.
In a rented building outside of Stuttgart, Germany, an old man, his son and a dozen workers began building an automobile.
After a lifetime of designing cars for other people, this one would be the first to bear his name.
Three years later Professor Ferdinand Porsche was dead. But he’d left behind, in his son, the determination to build great cars.
Today, Porsches are still made in Stuttgart. And Porsches are still made by Porsches.
Ferry, the son who worked on the 1948 car with his father, works on the 1970 cars with his sons.
Butzi, who designs them. Peter who’s in charge of production. And Wolfgang, who’ll learn the business from the bottom up.
The generations have changed. And so have the cars. But one thing has stayed the same.
The love that went into the first Porsche over 21 years ago goes into every Porsche that’s made today.
PORSCHE
This ad is bloody brilliant. It offers you a story.
But not just any story. A love story.
Stories are irresistible to humans. Especially the love kind.
Then we close with passion and legacy. Curtains.
You glance at your watch.
It’s 6:28. You’ve been at it since 3.
Crap. Your hot date is at 7. Running late. Sink shower it is.
Nowhere close to done editing…
“…at least all the ideas are laid out, so there’s that. Did I miss anything? I don’t think so? Ok, but how do I make it flow? I need to get the final draft to Stacey for design asap, team cutoff is at noon Thursday…”
You’ve spent dinner completely distracted. Your date just took off. You go home exhausted, plod to your desk, and crack open the laptop.
Or… it could go like this:
5:41 — you’re out of the shower and lip-syncing.
6:17 — dressed to the nines and zenned out.
7:03 — the sunset glints off your aviators as you smile hello.
8:36 — it actually feels like you’re hitting it off. Not just hot, funny to boot.
Next morning, 10:27 — polished draft ready in your inbox.
10:31 — Stacey messages back, “thanks, looks good!”
The difference?
You had Copygloss handle it yesterday afternoon.
