21-FEB-2025 | Fisons’ “7 of them aren’t running an ad” Ad by Peter Gatley

You glance at your watch.
It’s 6:28. You’ve been at it since 3.
Crap. Your hot date is at 7. Running late. Sink shower it is.
Nowhere close to done editing…
“…at least all the ideas are laid out, so there’s that. Did I miss anything? I don’t think so? Ok, but how do I make it flow? I need to get the final draft to Stacey for design asap, team cutoff is at noon Thursday…”
You’ve spent dinner completely distracted. Your date just took off. You go home exhausted, plod to your desk, and flip open the laptop.
Or… what if:
5:41 — you’re out of the shower and lip-syncing.
6:17 — dressed to the nines and zenned out.
7:03 — the sunset glints off your aviators as you smile hello.
8:36 — it actually feels like you’re hitting it off. Not just hot, funny to boot.
Next morning, 9:27 — final draft ready in your inbox.
10:31 — Stacey messages back, “thanks, looks good!”
The difference?
Copygloss handled it. Before you left for the date, actually.

An independent organisation tested 8 well-known composts. 7 of them aren’t running an ad about it.
Can you blame them? In tests carried out by the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service, Levington Multi-Purpose compost romped home.
Achieving the best sowing and potting results across a wide range of plants.
Not that this should come as a surprise, mind. Our research team are forever pitting Levington against its competitors.
They’re always looking for ways to make even the tiniest of improvements.
True, this approach doesn’t win as many friends among other compost manufacturers.
But it does make us rather popular with gardeners.
If you want green fingers, we’ll give you a hand. 🏁

I haven’t checked, but something tells Levington isn’t the cheapest option...
Set up and win at a competition no one else can. Even better if you can lean on track record — use it to your advantage, always.
Social proof qualified with a negative for credibility: “We don’t have many friends in compost manufacturing… because we’re so popular with gardeners.”
“If you” → creates a self-selection + introduces “you” into the mix. Also unites “you” and “we” where Fisons takes on the role of helping the reader.
P.S. The answer to yesterday’s hint: Hemingway.
