To all the founders wondering what makes us different —

Browse around a few VC websites these days and you’ll notice that they all start to sound the same.

They all say we partner with remarkable founders. We believe in the power of technology to change the world. We back exceptional companies from the very start. But that hasn’t always been the case. When we started First Round over 15 years ago, seed-stage investing wasn’t yet a thing and most doubted it would stick around. Founders-turned-investors were odd balls. And specifying how they’re different implicitly says they are different — without ever saying it outright.

1 idea → 1 sentence. Tight.

Most Lead Magnets Suck. This One Doesn't.

Lame PDFs gathering dust? Videos no one watches?

What if your lead magnet felt like a friendly chat delivering massive value? One that slots into their daily routine for ultra-high conversion?

That's the power of an email-based course. And Master the Email-Based Course gives you the full, proven blueprint top creators use for lead gen, revenue creation, and more.

Hunter S. Thompson once ran for sheriff in Aspen. He proposed Aspen be renamed to Fat City, to deter investors and tourists. He lost, but not my much(!).

The relevant point from his campaign:

"Change the name 'Aspen,' by public referendum, to 'Fat City.' This would prevent greedheads, land-rapers and other human jackals from capitalizing on the name 'Aspen' ... These swine should be fucked, broken, and driven across the land."
